Meet the Metropolis at Innsbrook Team | Shawn

Get to know our team! Over the past few weeks, we've introduced you to each of the team members at Metropolis at Innsbrook! To wrap up our meet the team series, please meet Shawn, Metropolis' Service Manager!

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in a small town called Powhatan, VA just west of Richmond. I have ventured to other states and counties for school and job opportunities; however, there is no place like home and Powhatan has drawn me back again.

How did you get into property management and what is your favorite part about working at Metropolis?

I got into property management after I needed a career change from being a Corrections Officer. I have always been interested in taking things apart to see how they function, fixing things that break and feeling accomplished when I see the completed task operating as it should. That led me to accept an opportunity at an apartment complex as a maintenance tech.

What do you love most about Innsbrook?

So far, my favorite part about working here at Metropolis is the team and it being a brand-new complex; being the first to get everything going. As far as Innsbrook goes, I like the fact that there is everything you would need in a few miles’ radius.

Where is your favorite place to go in the neighborhood (restaurant, shopping, etc.)?

My favorite place to go around this area would be Beach House. I have known most of the staff and their other establishments for quite a few years plus the food is pretty good.

Which Metropolis amenity are you most looking forward to and why?

I am looking forward to the golf simulator here at Metropolis. I have never seen that before and especially have yet to see it in an apartment community.

Tell us a surprising or a fun fact about yourself.

I am also a well-known DJ in the Richmond area with roughly 12 years of experience. I have been on the radio and have been a part of concerts, many weddings and clubs around town.
